Nigerian Textile Exporters Association
Nigerian Textile Exporters Association (NTEA)
The Nigerian Textile Exportaers Association (NTEA), midwived by NTMA/NTGTEA, which came into existence in 1993 has the immediate objective of meeting the quota for textile export to the United State of America (U.S.A.) as well as the long-term objectives of sourcing of markets for, and pursuing vigorously, the sales of Nigerian Textiles in the U.S.A. market, in particular, and overseas market in general.
The association organized many trade fairs to showcase made-in-Nigeria textile products. It made efforts to take advantage of African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) but this could not materialize because of the cost of production. With zero duty into American market it cannot compete with Asian countries who are to export into USA at 10% duty.
